How Much Exercise Should My Puppy Have?

Most sources of information will tell you that your puppy should be exercised for no more than 5 minutes per month of her life twice a day. So 15 minutes twice a day at three months, 20 minutes twice a day at four months and so on. This is just a rule of thumb so it is always advisable to also consider how your pup is coping. If she is looking as if she is struggling or starting to get naughty, it is a sign that she is doing too much. Over exercising your puppy can be damaging to their joints tendons and ligaments so it is very important to allow her to go at her own pace. If, like me you have a high energy breed, you can also drain some of that energy playing games in the garden or home such a hide a seek with treats or even humans! What ever way you excessive her, make sure to keep it fun and positive.
