That’s it, I know it all now mum.

Yes, I have gotten to the age where I know it all! No need to listen to anything I’m told…..in fact I’ll just make out I cannot hear you.

Puppy rearing can be a rollacosta. You proudly overcome toilet training and then the bitting really starts. You covercome bitting and then the teenager emerges….or Kevin as my friend likes to call puppies whom have become a stroppy teenager!

Ignore the Bad Behaviour and Reward the Good.

It’s and oldie but goodie saying chanted by behaviourists and dog trainers alike and with good reason. If up until now your puppy has really gotten hold of her trainig, recall had become reliable, and generally she was listening to you, it can be almost heartbreaking when all of a sudden it all disapears. All that hard work! If and when this happens just keep going with the training, ignore the bad behaviour (which in some cases can see house soiling reappear) and reward the good. This phase can last for a matter of weeks or even a month or so. But I promise you, it is just a phase…

It will pass, I promise you it will pass.
